Gunman robs specialty store just off Interstate 81 Sunday night
Abingdon police are investigating a Sunday night armed robbery at a town convenience store.
The report said the suspect pointed a gun at a clerk at Bares Discount Tobacco and Wine in the 900 block of East Main Street just before 8:30 and fled the scene with cash and merchandise.
The gunman was wearing a red bandanna for a mask, a green jacket, dark-colored toboggan, and blue jeans.
The Virginia State Police and Washington County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
