Lottery: Gamblers push online sportsbook to $1 billion plateau
The head of the Tennessee Lottery reported gamblers have wagered more than $1 billion since the start of online sportsbook regulation in the Volunteer state back in November.
Lottery executive director Rebecca Hargrove said the privilege tax revenue collected by the state at that time totals more than $18 million.
80 percent of those funds go to post-secondary scholarships while local governments will get 15 percent of the profits.
