THP: Kingsport man killed in Hawkins County when car collides with 18-wheeler

A Kingsport, Tennessee man was killed Thursday afternoon when his vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer in Hawkins County.

A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Nicholas Key, 23, was driving southbound on Highway 11W in Rogersville when he struck the back of an 18-wheeler stopped at a red light at the Park Boulevard intersection.

The car was lodged underneath the trailer. Key died from his injuries. The driver of the rig was not injured.
