East Tennessee House member Mike Carter dead at 67
A former East Tennessee judge and current member of the Tennessee House of Representatives has died from pancreatic cancer.
Mike Carter of Ooltewah announced his diagnosis in November following a hospital visit in August at Vanderbilt. Carter had served in Nashville since 2013 and was on the bench in Hamilton County from 1997 to 2005.
Governor Bill Lee posted a tribute on social media Sunday calling Carter a leader, friend, and brother in Christ. Mike Carter was 67.
