Food City to end mask requirement for fully vaccinated customers, employees

Fully vaccinated customers and employees at Food City will no longer be required to wear a face covering while in store starting Thursday, May 20.

A statement from the grocery store chain says this falls in line with the CDC guidelines, and the requirement will end except for local and state guidelines. Food City recommends customers that are not vaccinated should continue wearing a mask while shopping, or for customers that prefer to wear one as a safety precaution.

The chain is continuing to encourage social distancing and will also provide cleaning supplies like hand sanitizer as well as cart wipes.
