UPDATE: Gasoline supplies are being replenished in Southeast
Data provided by analysts at petroleum think tank GasBuddy show motorists hard hit by pump shutdowns due to the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack last week are seeing relief.
The majority of the 16 states that saw station owners close down filling stations including Tennessee and Virginia have all seen gasoline supplies improve marginally since the pipeline went back into operation last week.
North and South Carolina and Georgia continue to struggle with meeting consumer demands with more than 40 percent of pumps bone dry. Prices are also rising and will likely see a small retreat, according to the group, but demand could keep the price per gallon hovering around $3.
