UPDATE: Workers at Southwest Virginia Volvo plant reject new contract
The largest truck manufacturing plant in Volvo’s worldwide fleet has rejected a labor agreement reached last month.
The United Auto Workers reported employees at the Volvo plant in Dublin in Southwest Virginia plan to continue work on assembly lines while negotiations continue.
The Volvo workers began bargaining for a new 5-year contract in February and ended a 13-day strike following a tentative agreement on April 30. Plant manager Franky Marchand says all AEW concerns will be addressed in new talks.
