Appalachian League President Emeritus Lee Landers dead at 83
Appalachian League President Emeritus Lee Landers has died from natural causes at the age of 83, according to executives with Minor League Baseball.
Landers began his career in baseball in Fresno, California in 1959 that took him to several stops until he got the call to the show from the St. Louis Cardinals in 1986 when he was named Vice President of the squad.
He took over leadership of the Appalachian League in 1996 and was inducted into the league’s Hall of Fame in 2019—capping a 23-year stint of executive service.
