Alcohol to-go orders now law in Tennessee through July 2023
A Tennessee pandemic policy that allowed restaurants to sale alcohol and liquor to-go is now law for the next two years.
Gov. Bill Lee permitted alcohol to-go orders through an executive order last year as a way for those businesses to make up for lost profits while in-person dining was restricted.
Under the law, anyone purchasing alcohol to-go from a restaurant must also buy food in their order. Businesses are required to package the drink in a container or bottle.
The law is in effect through July 1, 2023.
