Morristown fisherman killed in Douglas Lake accident
A Hamblen County fisherman died from injuries suffered in a boating accident at Douglas Lake.
A report from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said James McGee, 66, of Morristown, fell overboard, striking the boat’s propeller and causing serious injuries to his arm.
Eyewitnesses pulled McGee to shore and gave him some medical assistance. He was later flown to Knoxville where he died at UT Medical Center.
This accident marks the seventh fatality on Tennessee waters this year.
