Western Virginia Senior US District Court Judge Glen Conrad dead at 71
A senior federal judge who worked his way up from a probation officer and law clerk in Abingdon in the late 1970s has died.
Western Virginia US District Court officials announced the death of Judge Glen E. Conrad over the weekend at the age of 71.
Conrad was appointed to that position in 2003 by President George W. Bush and took senior status in 2017.
Conrad was the judge who ruled in favor of white supremacists to hold their deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville where one counter-protester died after a man ran his car into a crowd.
