NEW: Kingsport man indicted for murder picked up in Hawkins County during traffic stop
A Kingsport, Tennessee man has been indicted by a grand jury for a November homicide that occurred in the Meadowview area.
Jonathan A. Smith, 28, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, felony murder, attempted murder, and aggravated burglary, according to a statement from the city police department.
Regional law enforcement had been on the lookout for Smith since the judge ordered his arrest on April 28th. He was pulled over and arrested following a routine traffic stop in Hawkins County over the weekend.
Smith is accused of shooting Eduardo Velazco at a home in the 1600 block of Osage Drive. Velazco was found dead at the scene.
