Suspected drug dealer in Eastern Kentucky swipes police cruiser, leaves live grenade in pickup
A man in neighboring Eastern Kentucky was able to commandeer a police cruiser and escape officers who had just taken him into custody after a possible drug deal.
Officials with the Jenkins Police Department said Stevie Allen Tackett was able to get behind the wheel with cuffs on and honked the horn as he sped out of a convenience store parking lot.
The patrol vehicle was found in Letcher County with an empty gas tank.
The situation became more dramatic when investigators found a live grenade in the truck that Tackett ditched in his getaway. Bomb experts were called in to remove the weapon.
Tackett is considered armed and dangerous.
