Mall at Johnson City ownership group files bankruptcy paperwork in Texas
The Mall at Johnson City’s primary owners the Washington Prime Group has filed papers in federal court in Texas for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
A statement issued by the company Monday said they have secured $100 million in new money to help with day-to-day operations that they said will continue without interruption.
Besides restructuring debt, the move was completed due to the pandemic’s impact on retail sales.
