Remains of Confederate leader Nathan Bedford Forrest removed from grave for shipment to museum
The remains of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife have been removed from their plot inside a park near Memphis.
The bodies are being held at an undisclosed location until their final trip to the National Confederate Museum in Columbia operated by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
The relatives of Forrest have been working with the group on the transfer since a judge ruled in favor of the move late last year.
A bust of the former KKK leader installed in the state capitol in Nashville in the 1970s will be moved following a vote by the Tennessee Historical Commission in March.
