ACG Glass plants in Church Hill, Abingdon part of $450 million acquisition
Plants owned by Japanese glass manufacturer ACG, Inc. located in Church Hill, Tennessee, and Abingdon, Virginia, will soon be under new ownership.
A $450 million deal was announced by the company and Minnesota-based Cardinal Glass Industries. The acquisition includes a manufacturing facility in Hawkins County and a coating plant in Washington County.
ACG noted that they have had past collaborations with Cardinal and this was the best option to grow their North American holdings.
The company employs more than 500 workers at its Church Hill location which opened a new plant in 2018 at a cost of $40 million.
