Search for Summer – Thursday: 50 leads, still no sign of Hawkins County 5-year-old
Steep and dangerous terrain and limited radio and cell phone service continue to hamper search teams looking for 5-year-old Hawkins County girl Summer Wells who is still missing after her initial disappearance was reported Tuesday.
Multiple professional trackers are on the ground and aerial teams who have deployed helicopters and drones are combing through a very wooded Beech Creek community outside Rogersville off Ben Hill Road where neighbors are sometimes miles apart and where Summer was last seen with no shoes, gray pants, and a pink shirt near her home where she lives with her parents and three siblings.
Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said everyone remains a suspect and nothing is off the table on their end of finding Summer. TBI spokesperson Leslie Earhart says 50 leads have been submitted but all of them have produced no results.
