BVU to resume past-due disconnections July 1
Bristol Virginia Utilities Authority will resume disconnecting past due accounts starting July 1st. The announcement comes after the utility company suspended disconnects for almost a year throughout the pandemic, in hopes of assisting Bristol, Virginia residents.
BVU reports an unmatched number of accounts in past-due status over the last 16 months—which is about one of every five accounts.
Customers are asked to contact BVU customer support by June 30th to discuss and reconcile past due balances, which they are still required to pay.
