Police: Bystander who tried to separate two men fighting at Waffle House gets assaulted

A bystander that tried to separate two men arguing in a Waffle House parking lot ended up with a blow to the head with a baseball bat.

Nathan Armstead, 26, is charged with one count of aggravated assault following the attack at the eatery located at 510 North State of Franklin Road.

Police said Armstead got the bat out of his parked car and in the midst of the argument and struck the victim. He was arrested and issued a $2,500 bond.
