Late Model Sportsman champion and NASCAR Hall of Fame member Jack Ingram dead at 84
A NASCAR Hall of Famer who competed on numerous tracks across the Southeast has died.
The stock car group announced the death of North Carolina’s Jack Ingram who was a three-time series champion who won more than 300 races in the Late Model Sportsman and then Xfinity Series including a victory at Bristol Motor Speedway in 1982.
Ingram was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2014 in a class that included Fireball Roberts and Dale Jarrett.
Ingram earned his “Iron Man” nickname in 1973 when he competed in five races in six states during Labor Day weekend which included a victory at Lonesome Pine Speedway in Coeburn, Virginia.
Jack Ingram was 84.
