UPDATE: Suspect in murder of High Point University student waives extradition in Carter County hearing
The man accused of killing a High Point University student and then transporting her body into Carter County, Tennessee last week is headed back to North Carolina.
Michael Louis Cadogan, 24, waived his extradition in Sessions Court. He was being held without bond after his arrest for abuse of a corpse after investigators found Gianna Delgado, 19, in the trunk of his vehicle.
Family members of Delgado had to be removed from the courtroom following the hearing.
A statement from the school said details of a preliminary investigation say the domestic incident took place at a private apartment off-campus.
