Vintage “Base Ball” game coming to Abingdon
An 1864-style “base ball” game happens this weekend in Abingdon. This event is hosted by the Vintage Base Ball Club of Wythe County. It features a game of baseball played with the style, rules, and uniforms from 1864. No gloves and underhand pitches are two key ways that vintage base ball is different than baseball as we know it.
Admission is free to the public. This game takes place on Sunday, July 11th at Fairview Farm & Homestead at 4 PM.
