Blountville Felon Arrested With Handgun, While Walking Interstate 26
It was the wrong place at the wrong time, for a Blountville man who was arrested while walking along a section of heavily traveled I-26. Johnson City Police tell us Kurtis Hensley of Adams Chapel Road was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, being in possession of a prohibited weapon,and simple possession of meth and marijuana. Police stopped Hensley as he walked along the side of Interstate 26 near mile marker 12. After being stopped police asked Hensley if he had any weapons on him. Hensley told officers he had a handgun. Officers disarmed Hensley and that’s when they discovered Hensley was in possession of what is believed to be pot and methamphetamine, as well as an expandable baton, which is an illegal weapon. Hensley was set for arraignment Tuesday in Washington County General Sessions Court.
