UVA Wise graduate found shot and killed inside vehicle near Washington, D.C.
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise has reported the death of a 2020 graduate and former football player.
Metro DC Police confirmed that Muntsier Sharfi, 24, of Bristow, was found shot and killed inside an overturned vehicle Thursday evening and the department is treating the incident as a homicide.
Sharfi is the second former Cavalier football player to die as a result of gunfire this year. Donovan Lynch was killed by a Virginia Beach police officer in March during a string of violence in the beachfront area.
Earlier today, we learned of the passing of former student-athlete and UVA Wise graduate Muntsier Sharfi ’20. Muntsier was a member of the football program during his time on campus and graduated with a degree in management information systems. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/6w2wMs5li8
