Northam, Warner plan major broadband announcement for SW Virginia

Governor Northam and US Senator Mark Warner are scheduled to appear in Abingdon Friday afternoon to announce a major broadband project for Southwest Virginia.

Some preliminary details released by Warner’s office said the funding that will be derived from American Rescue Plan that will help companies invest millions into expanding service lines to provide more internet access for residents, businesses, and healthcare companies.

Warner is also campaigning for support of President Biden’s massive infrastructure investment that would include $65 billion in internet and wi-fi upgrades across the US.
