Johnson City Commission approves smoking and vaping ban on city-owned property
The Johnson City Commission approved a new ordinance that bans smoking and vaping on city-owned property such as public parks, playgrounds, and recreation areas. Commissioners say this was an easy, unanimous vote in order to protect children from exposure to second-hand smoke in public areas. Johnson City Police are now authorized to issue citations of up to 50 dollars to those smoking on city-owned property.
