Sullivan Executive Committee To Discuss Opioid Lawsuit In Open Meeting
The Sullivan County Executive Committee, who’s tasked with negotiating and making decisions regarding lawsuits will be meeting Wednesday to discuss ongoing issues with an multi billion dollar opioid lawsuit, the county has filed against several pharmaceutical companies. Last week the committee agreed to accept five billion to ten billion dollars as the amount of the Global Pie being offered by a bankruptcy court for the estimated assets of Purdue Pharma. That pie will be divided at a later date among the many plaintiffs who filed suit against the company. The public meeting to review the pending litigation begins at 330 pm Wednesday in the Sullivan Commission Room.
