Bristol Virginia Public Schools prep for 2021-22 school year with tiered operations for COVID
Superintendent of Bristol Virginia City Schools Keith Perrigan announced a tiered system for operations this year while continuing to deal with COVID conditions.
Tier 1 called the New Normal includes social distancing, mask-wearing for bus riders, and contact tracing and quarantines when needed.
Perrigan said when Tier 2 is activated increased cleaning will occur in schools during the weekend plus access to schools and community areas will be limited.
Local community spread and other factors would trigger Tier 3—signaling a return to remote learning at home for students, closing schools to visitors, daily health screenings for employees, and enhanced cleaning.
Bristol Virginia students are scheduled to return to the classroom since the pandemic on August 19.
