Tazewell County parents charged in death of infant denied bond

The parents of a Tazewell County, Virginia baby that reportedly died of a drug overdose have been denied bond by a juvenile judge.

Evan and Kayla Stanford were arrested earlier this month and charged with child endangerment following an investigation into the death of the infant back in April.

A medical examiner wrote that the child died from exposure to suboxone and methadone. The parents told detectives that they had the substances on their hands when touching the child’s body and mouth.
