Hawkins Officers, Stop Speeding Vehicle. Find Adult, Four Underage Juveniles, Alcohol, Pot and Loaded Handgun

A potentially dangerous situation was averted over the weekend in Hawkins County after deputies stopped a Toyota Camry for speeding. Following the stop, officers found four underage teenagers, alcohol, marijuana and a adult with a Beretta handgun, loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition inside. Following a brief investigation, 18 year old Mason Patrick Lee McDaniel was identified as the suspect with the handgun. Officers arrested McDaniel for possession of a handgun by an intoxicated person. The four juveniles were charged with underage consumption of alcohol, simple possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without a license.
