Kingsport’s Daniel Kilgore says farewell to the NFL after 10 seasons
Three teams, 98 games played, and one Super Bowl later, Daniel Kilgore is leaving the National Football League.
The Kingsport native who was a fifth-round draft choice for the San Francisco 49ers out of Appalachian State in 2011 has announced his retirement from the game after a 10-year career.
Kilgore was traded to Miami in 2018 and then signed as an unrestricted free agent with Kansas City last season. The Chiefs were defeated in Super Bowl 55 by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in February.
