DEVELOPING: Greeneville police report suspect on the loose after shooting at officers

Joseph Hale is now in police custody.

A report issued just before 1 pm Thursday says officers with the Greeneville, Tennessee Police Department were shot at during an incident.

The statement sent out by Assistant Police Chief Mike Crum says the suspect Joseph Hale is considered armed and dangerous.

Hale was last seen in the area of Baileyton Road / Bohannon / North Main Street. A K9 officer is assisting in the search.

The report said residents should not approach Hale and call 9-1-1.
