UPDATE: Driver pleads guilty to manslaughter in connection to fatal Route 23 crash
An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in connection to a fatal February crash on Wise County’s Route 23.
Travis Lee Tolliver, 30, had exceeded regulated driving hours allowed to tractor-trailer drivers prior to the Feb. 24 wreck, according to a federal motor carrier agency.
Tolliver was also under the influence and traveling in the wrong direction at the time of the crash that killed Perry Owens, 22, and seriously injured the driver. He will be sentenced in October.
