UPDATE: Greeneville man who triggered manhunt charged with aggravated assault

A Greeneville, Tennessee man fired his gun at officers and ran from the scene resulting in a five-hour manhunt concluding Thursday evening with his arrest.

Joseph Dale Hale, 29, was charged with aggravated assault and three other offenses following the initial incident on Arnold Road after Hale was spotted in a vehicle that was reported stolen.

A total of nine state and federal agencies that included US Marshals and ATF agents assisted in Hale’s capture.
