As Numbers Rise, Ballad Prepares For Possible Surge In COVID Cases
As regional numbers of COVID-19 continue to climb, now being fueled by the COVID-19 Delta Variant, Ballad Health Care officials are preparing for a possible surge in cases unless something changes abruptly. Ballad CEO Allan Levine and other health care officials at Ballad are concerned as the numbers have doubled from last weeks figures. Ballad says it currently has capacity to care for roughly 75 COVID-19 patients before the health care provider would have to make any adjustments which could include designating hospitals specifically for coronavirus patients, standing up larger COVID dedicated units systemwide again, or suspending elective surgeries, which has already been done once during the pandemic.
