Mask mandate returns to all schools in University of Tennessee system as delta variant makes cases rise
University of Tennessee President Randy Boyd is following the advice of the school’s medical experts in issuing a mask mandate for all incoming students due to COVID’s Delta variant causing another contagious spread.
Students and workers will be required to wear masks in classrooms, laboratories, instructional spaces, and at indoor events.
The rule also applies to all schools in the Tennessee system including Chattanooga, UT Martin, and the UT Health Science Center.
Due to the increasing spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant, the fall semester will begin with limited mask requirements. Students, faculty, and staff will be required to wear face coverings in classrooms, labs, and for required indoor academic events. https://t.co/1iZbWHFzi2
