Hawkins Woman Shoots Self During Confrontation With Hawkins Authorities
A 55 year old Hawkins County woman is injured and jailed after shooting herself during a violent confrontation with police involving a complaint of vandalizing private property. Hawkins County Sheriffs Deputies say 55 year old Christina Lynn Adams, became combative when confronted about vandalizing a truck on Marlowe Road in Rogersville. Deputies approached Adams while she was in her vehicle and refused to come out. Officers attempted to remove Adams from her vehicle when she randomly fired four shots from a handgun. One of those shots hit Adams in the left side. Adams was taken to a local hospital and was released into custody. No shots were fired at officers, but three deputies received minor injuries during the altercation. Adams is charged with 12 counts of reckless endangerment as well as several other charges and is being held without bond in Hawkins County
