TBI reports bogus fund raisers being launched to profit off searches for Summer Wells
The missing milestone for Hawkins County’s Summer Wells slowly moves toward two months without a trace of the 5-year-old in the Beech Creek community outside Rogersville.
The TBI continues to try and locate the driver of a maroon 1998-2000 model Toyota pickup who was seen on surveillance video in the vicinity of Summer’s disappearance in the hopes of getting any useful information.
#TNAMBERAlert: The investigation into the disappearance of Summer Wells remains ongoing.
Misinformation shared on social media about the case continues to cause problems. We are again urging the public only to share info from official sources.

The agency said others are trying to profit off of the tragedy by soliciting money and telling people they are helping raise funds for the search. All search activities are self-funded by the county and the state. Any others are scams and should be ignored, according to the bureau.
Summer’s parents have not been heard from since their sons were removed from the home by child protective services.
