UVA-Wise joins growing list of schools going to mask mandates

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise joins other institutions across the state in issuing a mask mandate that goes into effect on Friday in all indoor facilities on campus.

Chancellor Donna Price Henry said the university will continue to monitor CDC guidelines and local health department data on case counts before any changes are made.

According to Department of Health data, Wise County currently has the fourth-highest infection rate and number of cases of COVID in Southwest Virginia.
