Remains of missing woman in neighboring Avery County, NC found encased in concrete

Police in neighboring Avery County, North Carolina has identified a person of interest in a homicide case after a missing woman’s remains were found encased in concrete in the basement of her home.

Elizabeth Freeman, 53, is currently wanted on related charges such as identity theft that are connected to the death of Lynn Gay Keene, 70, who had been missing since June.

Investigators said Freeman was hired by Keene’s family as a live-in caregiver.
