Abingdon Virginia Students Begin School With Increased Presence Of Police
Along with being the first day of school for Abingdon Virginia students, they will also be greeted with an increased presence of police in an abundance of caution. The move comes after a juvenile reported he and his family were threatened with harm as well as harm to an unnamed school. In a release from the department, Police Chief Jon Holbrook says investigators are diligently working the case in order to identify the suspect who made the threat on the social media platform Snapchat. Holbrook says it is not believed any school is in danger due to the threat, but officers will be on hand Monday and throughout the week.
