ETSU Community Health Centers receive $1.9 million HRSA grant
East Tennessee State University’s Community Health Centers received a 1.9 million dollar grant from the HRSA. The Health Resources and Services Administration is a national organization that funds Community Health Centers across the country. The HRSA awarded more than six billion dollars from the American Rescue Plan to Community Health Centers nationwide, including ETSU’s health centers. ETSU’s College of Nursing has four Community Health Centers around our region. These centers provide various health services primarily to vulnerable populations, including high-need urban and rural communities. More than 91 percent of health center patients are individuals living at or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines. This grant will support COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, and treatment; as well as expand the centers’ operational capacity and workforce during the pandemic. Read more here.
