Virginia Department Of Corrections Continue Reopening Efforts Despite Rising COVID-19 Cases
Despite growing cases of COVID-19 the Virginia Department of Corrections is continuing its reopening of its facilities to the public. In July, all Virginia correctional facilities opened to attorneys and court officials, embassy and consulate officials, and other official visitors. VDOC facilities also opened its doors to religious visitors and volunteers. And beginning September 1st, the correctional agency will open ten pilot sites for in person family visitation. VDOC continues to vaccinate all staff and inmates who want to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as well as testing for staff and inmates.
