Bristol, Tennessee Man Sentenced For 499 Thousand Dollar Unemployment Conspiracy

A Bristol, Tennessee man is headed to Federal prison for 18 months for his part in defrauding the government of almost a half million dollars declared for use in a major disaster or emergency. 57 year old Larry D. Whited, participated in a scheme involving the filing of fraudulent claims for pandemic unemployment benefits. Over the course of nine months Whited, and others filed fraudulent claims for at least 37 individuals, with a total actual loss to the government of 499 thousand dollars.
