TEMA GRANTS WOULD SUPPORT LOCAL EMERGENCY, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS RESPONDERS
Sullivan County Commissioners are expected to approve a resolution accepting more than 131 thousand dollars in Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security funds to support local emergency responders. The money will be used to purchase equipment and training. The grant is funded one hundred percent and will not require any matching funds from Sullivan County. Commissioners meet next Tuesday to take up the matter as well as another TEMA grant to fund a 25 thousand dollar grant that would be used for specialized training for local hazardous materials technicians.
