Jonesborough distillery claims unfair treatment from town officials
Local distillery, Tennessee Hills, took to Facebook this week to call on the public for help. President and co-owner, Stephen Callahan, says the distillery has been trying to obtain an outdoor seating permit from the town of Jonesborough, and was unfairly denied. Callahan, who is a Jonesborough Alderman himself, says a select few individuals who sit in a position of power in the town have discriminated against Tennessee Hills by denying this permit. He says this denial from board members is discriminatory in that multiple surrounding establishments, that also serve alcohol, obtained the same permit with no issue. Callahan took to the Tennessee Hills Distillery Facebook page to call on locals to sign a petition and use their voices to reach Jonesborough Town Board members as well as the Mayor.
