Ballad Will Suspend Elective Surgeries Beginning Monday
Beginning this Monday, because COVID-19 is posing a major threat to the lives of thousands of people in the region, Ballad Health is suspending elective, non emergency surgical procedures requiring overnight stays. That’s according to Ballad Chief Operating Officer, Eric Deaton. Deaton says the people waiting for procedures are in pain, but hospital officials must address the most life threatening conditions first. The move comes as the health care provider works to preserve manpower and hospital resources as COVID-19 cases continue to rise, even if it is largely preventable with a vaccine according to Ballad.
