Hurley Residents Told To Plan For Long Recovery Process From This Weeks Flooding
Emergency officials in Hurley, Virginia say residents in the flood stricken community need to begin planning for a long term recovery process. It could be thirty days before power is restored to residents and up to a year before drinking was is fully restored. The American Red Cross is on scene to provide assistance for those affected by Monday and Tuesday’s rain and mudslides. To reach the Red Cross you can call 1-800 RED-CROSS. And finally, if you live on Guesses Fork Road, you will need to show an ID that displays their address. Officials are asking everyone to stay away from Gusses Fork Road, because emergency operations can be hindered by unauthorized personnel.
