TDOT suspends highway, interstate lane closures over Labor Day weekend
The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced there will be no lane closures on interstates and highways over the Labor Day weekend. Construction crews stop all lane closures from noon Friday to 6 AM on Tuesday, September 7th. TDOT Commissioner Clay Bright says the Labor Day weekend is typically a busy travel time in the state of Tennessee; and TDOT wants to ensure that thousands of travelers using highways and interstates arrive at their destination on-time and safely. While lane closures will be suspended this weekend, workers will still be on site at many construction zones. TDOT urges drivers to obey speed limits and drive safely this weekend and always.
