Abingdon High to present celebration of life to honor beloved ‘Coach Rat’

The Abingdon Falcons have honored the passing of assistant coach Robb Ratcliff with on-helmet tributes and his original varsity number stenciled on the field at Falcon Stadium.

Ratcliff, 42, an Abingdon graduate and a member of the coaching staff since 2012, died earlier this week following complications from COVID-19.

A celebration of life for Coach Rat is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11 at the stadium beginning at 8 p.m.
